A sneak peek, direct from Blizzard Entertainment, of the changes that they’re making to the WoW zones in the Cataclysm Expansion! This video was made available to official fansites in June 2010.
This video has been recorded over two runs, hence the different people, because I forgot Frapsing two bosses on my first run. This was the first instance I did in the Cataclysm Beta and also was a perfect oppurtunity to check out the ‘new’ single target and AoE tanking rotation. My TPS was just fine altough the rotations themselves are extremely boring. Still. Here I’ll briefly discuss everything that happens during the boss fights (the trash is nothing special): Rom’ogg Bonecrusher: Traps a player and the rest of the group has to free him. After the player has been freed everyone should move away from the boss to evade the massive AoE he has been preparing; the AoE actually hurts. Corla, Herald of Twilight: Comes with three adds. You can see a purple beam going to each of the adds. When you stand in the beam Corla will not be able to Evolve the add. An evolved add hurts pretty much and you shouldn’t have more than one up. If an add gets evolved it should be killed immediately. So how to prevent them from evolving? Assign two people to two beams. When someone stands in a beam the add can not evolve. You’ll get a debuff for standing in the beam which will Mind Controll you once you reach 100 stacks. So it’s safe to stay in until 90 stacks. Then you need to switch. That way you can keep two adds in place for the entire fight. Killing one should be no problem. Altough all three can be kept in place as well if the tank helps and if your lucky. Karsh Steelbender: Is 99% immune …
